India Post is a Government association managed postal system in India. In 31 March 2011, the Indian Postal Service had 154,866 post offices. There were 139,040 (89.78 percent) post offices in rural areas and 15,826 (10.22 percent) post offices in urban areas. India Post has 25,464 departmental Post Offices and 129,402 Extra-Departmental Branch Post Offices. It conducts recruitment examination every year to fill up various vacant posts such as Postman, Mail Guard etc.

Exam Pattern:
  • Candidates will be subjected to an Aptitude Test with a total 100 marks covering the following subjects.
  • Aptitude Test consists of four parts such as [Part-A, Part-B, Part-C (I), Part-C (II)]
  • The total duration of Test will be 2 hours (120 Minutes).
  • There will no negative marking.

General Knowledge:

Geography, Indian History, Freedom Struggle, Culture & Sports, General Polity & Constitution of India, Economics, General Science, Current Affairs and Reasoning & Analytical ability of 10th standard
Mathematics:

Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals & Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental Arithmetical Operations, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Average, Discount, Partnership, Time & Work, Time & Distance, Use of Tables & Graphs, Mensuration
English:

Articles, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Tenses, Verbs, Synonyms & Antonyms, Vocabulary, Sentence Structure, Proverbs, Phrases, Questions from small unseen passage etc
Hindi:

Shabd Pad, Kriya Bhed, Mishr & Sanyukt Vakya, Vakyo ka Rupantran, Swar Sandhi, Alankar, Samas, Muhavare & Lokoktiyan, Ashudh Vakya Shodhan, Apathit Gadyansh.( 5 questions from one Apathit Gadyansh and 2 to 3 questions from remaining topics).
Minimum Qualifying Marks:

Engagement of candidates will purely on merit basis which will be prepared on basis of marks obtained in Aptitude test separately for each category. Let’s check it here:
  • For UR Category: 10 marks in each part & 40 in aggregate
  • For SC/ST Category: 8 marks in each part & 33 in aggregate
  • For OBC Category: 9 marks in each part & 37 in aggregate

How to Prepare Merit List?
  • A common merit list for complete AP Postal Circle will be prepared according to all categories of post put together.
  • Aspirants will be allotted to positions and the divisions as per their choice based on their post in the merit list and availability of vacancies.
  • Such applicant, who is not able to get allotment in any of Division/Unit as per choice because of his/her performance, such entrants might be allotted to the division/unit where the vacancy exits.
