Applications are invited in the prescribed form for filling up the following posts of Officers, Teachers, Technical & Service Personnel from the eligible candidates who are qualified as on the last date fixed for receipt of applications in the University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. OFFICERS POSTS:
DEAN:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in any area of Horticultural / Agricultural Sciences from a recognized University
2. A Master’s degree in any area of Horticultural / Agricultural Sciences with at least 55% of marks (annual system) or CGPA of 3 out of 4 or OGPA 8 out of 10.
3. A Doctoral degree in any area of Horticultural / Agricultural Sciences.
4. A total experience of 18 years of Teaching / Research / Extension / Administration in Universities / Colleges and other Government Organizations, out of which at least 8 years shall be in the cadre of Professor.

B. TEACHING POSTS:
1. PROFESSOR CADRE :

1. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in the concerned / relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers, of which at least five papers in NAAS rated journals of not less than 4 in the previous cadre.
2. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent.
3. A minimum of ten years of experience in teaching/ research/ extension of which at least a minimum of 2 years in the cadre of Associate Professor in the grade pay of Rs.37400-67000 in university/college, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research.
4. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
5. A minimum score as stipulated in the prescribed Score Card.

2. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR CADRE:

1. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned / relevant disciplines.
2. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent.
3. A minimum of eight years of experience in teaching/research/ extension in the cadre of Assistant Professor or in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books and/or research/policy papers, of which at least three papers in NAAS rated journals of not less than 4 in the previous cadre.
4. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of guiding candidates for research.
5. A minimum score as stipulated in the prescribed Score Card.

3. ASSISTANT PROFESSOR CADRE:

1. Good academic record with at least 55% marks or its equivalent at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from a recognized University.
2. NET is compulsory along with one publication in NAAS (National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi) rated refereed journal for recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor and equivalent in the disciplines in which NET is conducted. The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR, ICAR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. Essentiality of NET can be waived-off for the candidates holding Ph.D. degree provided it has been done with course work as prescribed by the UGC Regulations 2009, and the candidate has at least two full length papers in journals having a NAAS rating not less than 4 on the last date of submission of application. Those candidates with Ph.D. degree without course work will not qualify for NET exemption.
3. Ph.D. with course work is exempted for the post of Assistant Professor of Physical Education, Library Science, Computer Science and Statistics. However, the candidates must possess Ph.D. degree with at least two publications.
4. NET/SLET/SET shall not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted. However, the candidates must possess Ph.D. degree with at least two publications.
5. The candidate should not be above 50 years of age in respect of SC / ST and 48 years of age in case of others.

TECHNICAL POSTS :
I. Farm Manager :

1. A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture / Agriculture from a recognized Agricultural University with good academic record with a minimum OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or CGPA of 2.25/4.00 or its equivalent or 55% of marks (where grade points are not in vogue).
2. A relaxation of minimum OGPA from 6.50/10.00 to 6.00/10.00 and CGPA of 2.25/4.00 to 2.00/4.00 is provided for SC/ST category (55% to 50% of marks where grade points are not in vogue).

II. Programme Assistant (Computer) :

1. A minimum of B.Sc. (Computer Science) / Bachelor in Computer Application / B.Sc. with PG Diploma in Computer Applications from a recognized University with good academic record with minimum 40% marks.
2. A relaxation of 40% to 35% marks is provided for SC/ST category.

III. Programme Assistant (Lab Technician):

1. A minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture / Agriculture / Agricultural Mktg. & Co-operation /Sericulture /Home Science / Agril.Engineering / Veterinary Science/ Animal Science / Forestry from a recognized Agricultural University with good academic record with a minimum OGPA of 6.50/10.00 or CGPA of 2.25/4.00 or its equivalent or 55% of marks (where grade points are not in vogue).
2. A relaxation of minimum OGPA from 6.50/10.00 to 6.00/10.00 and CGPA of 2.25/4.00 to 2.00/4.00 is provided for SC/ST category (55% to 50% of marks where grade points are not in vogue).
3. GENERAL: Candidates with knowledge of Kannada are preferred for the teaching posts & Technical Posts in the University.

C. SERVICE PERSONNEL POSTS:
1. Assistant Medical Officer:

1. Must pass a minimum second class with 50 percent and above marks in MBBS/ BAMS/BHMS degree programme provided the candidate has completed the degree within the minimum prescribed period.
2. Must have one year experience in the recognized Nursing Home/Hospital.
3. Must produce a record of good service.

2. Superintendent (Accounts)

1. Must possess a degree of a recognized University.
2. Must have passed Sub-ordinate Accounts Service Examination (SAS) of a State OR
3. Central Govt.
4. Must have put in a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Dept. of Govt. or Statutory Body

3. Library Assistant:

1. Must have a minimum of II class B.L.Sc Degree and II class M.L.Sc Degree OR II class M.L.I.Sc. degree with 2 years duration from a recognized University.
2. Experience in classification and cataloguing books and periodicals in Library / College / Research Institute is desirable.

4. Stenographer:

1. Must have passed a degree of a recognized University.
2. Must have passed Senior Type Writing in English and Kannada & Senior Shorthand Examination in English and Kannada conducted by the Board of Commercial Examination, Govt. of Karnataka.
3. Must have good command in English and Kannada.

5. Junior Engineer (Civil):

1. Must have passed Diploma in Civil Engineering of 3 years duration from a recognized Polytechnic Institution.
2. Must pass Accounts Higher before declaration of Probation.

6. Pharmacist:

1. Must have passed SSLC.
2. Must have a diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized University with a minimum of 3 years experience in a recognized Nursing Home/Hospital.
3. Must have a record of good service.
4. B. Pharma degree is desirable.

7. Assistant cum Computer Operator:

1. Must possess a degree of recognized University.
2. Experience in computation work and experience in data compilation / computer course is desirable.
3. Note: Should pass Accounts Higher Examination before declaration of probation.

8. Junior Technician:

1. Must have passed S.S.L.C.
2. Must have passed Certificate Course of not less than 2 years duration in respective fields from ITI (Mechanic Motor Vehicle / Draughtsman (Civil)).
3. Must have experience of not less than 2 years in the concerned field from a Govt./Statutory Body.
4. In case of Junior Technician (Auto Mechanic), must possess light vehicle driving license.
5. Must have a good physique.
6. Must have a record of good service.

9. Driver (Light Vehicle) :

1. Must have passed S.S.L.C.
2. Must have a light vehicles driving licence.
3. Must have experience of not less than 2 years in driving light vehicle in Statutory Body or Organizations / Institutions of State / Central Government excluding the period of Learner’s Driving Licence.
4. Must have a record of Good Service.
5. Note : For candidates working on Regular/Temporary/ DRE / MRE in UHS, Bagalkot attending driving work, 7th standard is the minimum qualification.

10. Gardner (Skilled Support Staff): 

1. Must have passed S.S.L.C.
2. Minimum of ten months training in Horticulture / Agriculture or related vocational Courses.
