Recruitment Under Sports Quota
Applications are invited from the eligible and outstanding sportspersons in the prescribed format (given here under) for filling up of 21 (Twenty One) vacancies in Pay Band-1 (Pay Scale `R 5200-20200) in Grade Pay R 2000/1900 & R 2800/2400- ; 10 (Ten) vacancies in Grade Pay R 1800 in ECR HQ/Hajipur and total 25 (Twenty Five) vacancies in all the 5-Divisions of E.C.Railway i.e. Dhanbad, Danapur. Mughalsarai, Sonpur and Samastipur (05 vacancies in each Division) in Grade Pay R 1800 against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement). However, the Railway Administration reserves the right to modify the number of vacancies.
Period of Reckoning Sports Achievements: For recruitment against sports quota, the sports achievements shall be in the current and/or immediate previous 02 (two) financial years and sportsperson shall be an active player. For this purpose, previous two financial years from the date of notification, shall be taken into account. For example, notification issued in 2013-14 (i.e. from 01.04.2013 to 31.03.2014) for recruitment against Sports Quota, the sports achievements of current Year (2013-14) and previous two financial years. i.e. 2011-12 and 2012-13 shall be taken into account and therefore, sports achievements on or after 01.04.2011 shall only be considered for appointment in the extant case. For this purpose, concluding day/date of the Tournament/Championship shall be taken into account.

Age Limit The age limit will be 18-25 years. (The age of sports person will be reckoned as on 01.01.2014) No relaxation in upper or lower age limit will be given.
Minimum Educational Qualification for recruitment:-

1. In G.P.- R1800 – Matriculation or ITI or equivalent
2. In G.P- R 1900/2000- Matriculation with 50% marks or equivalent or higher qualification
3. In G.P- R2400- Intermediate in Science with Maths & Physics (If recruited in Technician Grade)
4. In G.P- R 2800- Graduation or equivalent

Examination fees : The examination fees for recruitment against Sports Quota will be R60/- (for Grade Pay- R2800/2400/-) and R 40/- (for Grade Pay- R 2000/1900 & R 1800/-). Examination Fee can be paid only in the form of Indian Postal Order of above amount. Date of issue of IPO should not be before the date of issue of this Employment Notice.
