N.B. ABILITY TO READ, WRITE AND SPEAK IN BENGALI IS AN ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POSTS AND SERVICES MENTIONED BELOW PROVIDED THAT THE SAID COMPULSORY REQUIREMENT OF KNOWLEDGE IN BENGALI IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR NEPALI SPEAKING CANDIDATES FROM THE HILL AREAS OF THE DISTRICT OF DARJEELING UNLESS MENTIONED OTHERWISE AGAINST ANY PARTICULAR POST(S). INSPECTOR OF FACTORIES (MEDICAL) IN WEST BENGAL FACTORIES SERVICE UNDER LABOUR DEPARTMENT – FOUR (ONE EACH RESERVED FOR S.C. & S.T. CANDIDATES.).

1. PAY: Rs.15, 600/- – Rs.42, 000/- (P.B. – 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs.6, 600/-
2. QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: (i) Medical qualification included in First or Second schedule or Part-II of Third schedule to Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 and Registration as Medical Practitioner in West Bengal. (ii) Diploma in Industrial Health/ Public Health.
3. Desirable: Six months’ practical training as House Staff in Government Hospital or other recognized institution.
4. AGE: Not more than 35 years on 01.01.2014, relaxable for otherwise well-qualified and experienced candidates.

GEOGRAPHY MISTRESS, DOW HILL GIRLS’ SCHOOL, KURSEONG IN WEST BENGAL GENERAL SERVICE UNDER THE SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPATMENT – ONE [RESERVED FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES (SUFFERING FROM BLINDNESS OR LOW VISION)] (MEN UNSUITABLE).

1. PAY: Rs.15, 600/- – Rs.42, 000/- (P.B. 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs. 5, 400/-.
2. QUALIFICATIONS Essential: (i) Second class Master’s Degree or Honours Degree in Geography of an Indian University or equivalent, (ii) Degree in teaching or Education or equivalent (a candidate not possessing this qualification may apply but if selected shall have to acquire such qualifications within three years of joining the post and will draw on an ad-hoc basis the initial of the time-scale of pay till she qualifies herself in this regard), (iii) Teaching experience in English medium in secondary schools, preferably residential ones, relaxable for otherwise well-qualified candidates, (iv) Ability to teach in English medium.
3. Desirable: (i) Ability to organise extracurricular activities such as performance of dramas, organization of literary meetings, educational excursions etc. & (ii) Knowledge of Nepali – spoken and written

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF AGRICULTURE IN THE WEST BENGAL AGRICULTURAL SERVICE (ADMINISTRATIVE) UNDER AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT – ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY SEVEN [THIRTY EIGHT RESERVED FOR S.C., ELEVEN FOR S.T., SEVENTEEN FOR O.B.C. 3. Desirable: Knowledge of Agricultural conditions in West Bengal.

Name of the Post : ASSISTANT BOTANIST , ASSISTANT AGRICULTURAL CHEMIST/ANALYTICAL CHEMIST/JUNIOR SOIL SCIENTIST, ASSISTANT ENTOMOLOGIST , ASSISTANT AGRONOMIST , ASSISTANT PLANT PATHOLOGIST/ASSISTANT MYCOLOGIST

1. PAY: Rs.15, 600/- – Rs.42, 000/- (P.B. – 4A) plus Grade Pay Rs. 5, 400/-.
2. QUALIFICATIONS: Essential: (i) Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, (ii) Master’s Degree or equivalent in the following discipline (the candidate must have obtained first class in Bachelor’s Degree or in Master’s Degree) – For (a) Botany / Genetics & Plant Breeding / Plant Physiology / Agricultural Botany / Seed Science & Technology; For (b) Agricultural Chemistry / Bio-Chemistry / Soil & Water Conservation / Soil Physics / Soil Survey / Microbiology / Agricultural Chemicals; For (c) Entomology; For (d) Agronomy; For (e) Mycology / Plant Pathology.
3. Desirable: Knowledge of Agricultural conditions in West Bengal.
4. AGE: Not more than 35 years on 01.01.2014 relaxable for departmental candidates as well as for well qualified and experienced candidates.

FEE : Candidates must enclose with the application a fee of Rs. 210/- (Rupees two hundred and ten) only by Indian Postal Order which MUST BE PURCHASED ON A DATE AFTER PUBLICATION OF THIS ADVERTISEMENT AND ON OR BEFORE THE CLOSSING DATE OF SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION and crossed and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata. Money Order, Cheque, Bank Draft, Cash etc. will not be accepted. No application will be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fees. Candidates belonging to S.C./S.T. of West Bengal and Persons with Disabilities specified under Persons with Disabilities Rules, 1999 are not required to pay any fee. The application of such candidates will not be accepted if the same is not accompanied with the attested copy of S.C./S.T./Persons with Disabilities certificate. Such exemption of fees is, however, not applicable to any O.B.C. (category „A‟ or „B‟) candidate. No claim for refund of the fee will be entertained nor will it be held in reserve for any other examination

In cases of Preliminary Examination/Screening Tests, an identical copy of the photograph will be required for pasting on the Attendance Sheet to be sent by this office along with the Admit Card.
