Details of Post : Technical Officer & More Vacancies: Indian Institute of Geomagnetism is a premier research organization having strong research programmes in Geomagnetism and allied fields. The primary research activities of the Institute deal with geophysical processes occurring (1) inside the Earth, primarily in the areas of Electromagnetic Imaging of the Earth's Interior, crustal magnetic anomalies, Palaeo and Environmental Magnetism, Petrology, GPS based crustal deformation studies and Groundwater studies, and (2) external to the Earth, particularly in understanding the behavior of particles, fields and currents in the near space environment, with emphasis on space weather. The Institute provides excellent infrastructural facilities and good career prospects. Applications are invited for the following vacancies to be filled at HQ or at any of the Regional Centres of the Institute , viz Allahabad or Tirunelveli and  Observatories across India. READER : 1 Post Pay Band and Grade Pay : Rs.15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 6600 Requirements

Desirable : A First Class Masters Degree in Geophysics /Applied Geophysics /Exploration Geophysics Research experience of at least five years in relevant   subject is essential. Ph.D in Solid Earth studies with Seismology background. Masters/Ph.Ds from reputed national/international institutes/universities are preferred. Candidates with Ph.Ds obtained from foreign universities and with some postdoctoral experience are especially encouraged to apply. Maximum Age : 40 years. TECHNICAL OFFICER – I : 1 post Pay Band and Grade Pay : Rs. 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 4600 Requirements : First or high second class Master's degree in Geophysics / Geology. 2 years experience of working in the relevant field in a reputed Research Laboratory / Institute/ University.

Desirable : Knowledge and experience in any one of the following : Geomagnetism and related fields  GIS andgeophysical potential fields Maximum Age : 30 years TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (Library) : 1 Post FREE GOVERNMENT JOB ALERTS Pay Band and Grade Pay : Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2800 Requirements : : First or high second class B. Lib. Science with B.Sc. degree Maximum Age 28 years STENOGRAPHER (GRADE III) : 1 Post Pay Band and Grade Pay : Rs. 5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs. 2400 Requirements : SSC with minimum shorthand speed of 80 w.p.m. and typing speed of 40 w.p.m. Good command over English is essential.
