Majestic forests of Himachal Pradesh draw visitors to them like a magnet. The beautiful and serene beauty removes all stress from a person’s mind. The forest vegetation mainly consists of coniferous trees and with plants having broad leaves. The forest area is rich in different species of plant life. At different levels of the mountains we find different types of vegetation. The forests of the area are divided into reserved forest area, un-demarcated protected forests, those not managed by the forest department, demarcated protected forests, unclassed forests and forests which are managed by the forest department.

HP Forest Guard Vacancy 2013 Notification Details

Applications are invited for 205 posts for Forest Guards with Forest Department of Himachal Pradesh. The posts are there on basis of a contract signed between the employer and the employee. The contract brings Rs.5910-20200+2000 G.P. per month for the worker.

Posts are divided into different categories which come under general category, SC, OBC and ST category. The posts are available in the circles of Bilaspur, Chamba, D/Shala, H/pur, Kullu, Mandi, Nahan, R/pur, Shimla, WL Shimla, WL D/shala and NP Shamshi.

Eligibility Criteria

Bonafide citizens of Himachal Pradesh and citizens of India can apply for the post of Forest Guards. Those sending the application should be registered with the employment exchange.

Age criteria

• The candidates applying should not be below 18 years and above 27 years. Relaxation of 5 years is allowed for candidates belonging to reserved categories of SC/ST and OBC quota.

Qualification required

Selection process

Selection process involves a written test and an interview. The candidates have to undergo a physical efficiency test before sitting for the written test and the qualifying viva.

Marks received during the physical test determine the merit list which is prepared for the candidates. During the physical test one sees the height of the candidate, the measurement of the chest, the time taken by one in a 100 mtr race and the distance covered during a high and long jump.

The written test is of 65 minutes. There are 80 objective type questions to be cleared in the written test. Objective type questions are general in nature, based on language, knowledge of forests and forest life and reasoning etc. The exam is called PET exam. Applicant sends the typed application form filled with his own hand. The letter is forwarded to respective conservator of Forests which come under Himachal Pradesh. Selected candidates are also informed about their test via local newspapers. The applications can be rejected if they are incomplete. The authority is under no pressure to accept all the applications. No one can demand for a regular job after applying for this job.

Applications need to be mailed before the due date is over to the office Conservator of Forests concerned from 20.3.2013 to last date 16.4.2013 in working day between 10.00 A.m. to 5.00 P.m. or through post. Performa contains the name of the candidate, father’s name, home address, phone number, identification mark, category to which the applicant belongs and date of birth etc.
