Lakshadweep Police Recruitment 2013 - Technical Vacancies

Introduction : Lakshadweep Island is smallest in country. First police station was established in 1958 at Minicoy in Lakshadweep Island with one SI, 2 HCs, and five constables. Many other police stations were established later to manage and control crime in area. There are various vacancies in Lakshadweep Police Department as given below.

Lakshadweep Police Recruitment 2013 details

Office of superintendent of police, kavaratti issued notification dated 8-03-2012 to invite application from ex-navy and ex-coast guards for filling up vacancies on technical posts under coastal security scheme. The recruitment will be made on contract basis on various posts.
  
These posts are Master (ASI) (4 posts), Engine Driver (ASI)(2 posts), Engine Driver (HC)(7 posts), Master (HC)(8 posts), Greaser (HC)(2 Posts), Seacunny (HC). After recruitment, the Master (ASI) and Engine Driver (ASI) will receive a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 22000/ month where rest will get Rs.20000/ month. After appointment, personnel will be entitled to 30 days casual leave. Also these appointees will get benefit of insurance facility of Rs.10 lakh ( in case of death on duty to family), Rs .5 lakhs in case of permanent handicapped, for major accident on duty Rs. 5 Lakh and for minor accident Rs. 50,000. This appointment will be made for one year and can be extended up to 5 years.
  

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for these posts should have minimum qualification as required in notification. Applicants for post of Master (ASI) need to be a Ex- Navy/ Coast Guard personnel at least in the rank of Petty Officer/Pradhan Navik having minimum 10 years experience in related field. For the post of Engine Driver (ASI) 10 years of experience is required. For other posts, 8 years of experience in related field is essential for a candidate applying for these posts.
  

Selection procedure

Selection of candidates will be made on basis of Trade test, interview and medical fitness test. After receiving application from candidates, a list will be prepared according to number of forms received. Candidates will be shortlisted for trade test on basis of documents submitted by them. If a candidate will qualify trade test, he will be undergone interview and medical fitness test before final appointment on respective posts. Selected candidates will be will not be entitled to any other benefits like e increment, promotion, pension etc apart from consolidated monthly remuneration. The appointment is purely on temporary basis and employees need to execute an agreement on Rs. 50 stamp to show acceptance of terms and conditions within 10 days of appointment.

 Application format is given along with notification for each posts. Candidates willing to apply should fill form prescribed for post. Each form should be filled in capital letters. A passport photo should be affixed on application form. Completely filled application along with documents attached should reach office of superintendent of police, U.T. of Lakshadweep Kavaratti Island Pin 682555 on or before 8-4-2013. Candidates will be informed later about date, venue and timing of trade test, interview, and fitness test. No application will be accepted after last date 8-4-2013.
