Project Assistant

The India Centre for Migration (ICM) is a ‘not for profit’ society established by the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA) in July 2008 to serve as a think tank on all matters relating to ‘international migration’. The ICM undertakes empirical, analytical and policy related research, implements pilot projects to document good practices and assists in capacity building at the sub-national level amongst stakeholders in the field. The mandate of the Council is to devise and execute medium to long term strategies to enable Indian emigrant workers and professionals to move up the value chain and to position India as a preferred source of qualified, skilled and trained human resources across a wide gamut of sectors.

Position Title : Project Assistant

1. Number of Positions : Two
2. Organisation : India Centre for Migration
3. Supervisor : Head Projects
4. Duration of Contract : 2 years (Initial appointment will be for 1 year  but renewable for second year, based on performance)
5. Minimum Qualifications and Experience  : a) Post-Graduation from a recognized university in any Social Science discipline. b) At least two years of research or project implementation experience, preferably in  the field of international migration after acquiring Masters Degree.
6. Desirable Skills  a) Knowledge of project management software like MS-projects and also data  analysis and statistical packages like SPSS, STATA, MS ACCESS etc.  b) Experience of managing the development, and maintenance of databases.  c) Experience in organizing workshops, roundtables, consultations at national and  international level.
7. Salary  : A consolidated salary of INR 40, 000/- per month would be paid. There will be no  increase in salary in the two years of appointment.
